British Conservatism in the 2020s

13th November 2020 14.00-16.00
Talk/Webinar, Panel debate

About this event

With a Prime Minister who seeks comparison with FDR, a Party that has found a new base in its Red Wall, and a crisis that has led to the most interventionist Chancellor in decades, it is time to ask: what does British Conservatism stand for in the 2020s? The event is not another excursion into Brexit, but instead puts the spotlight on domestic policy to understand what the Party stands for and how it will shape the ‘new normal’.

We shall ask:

  • What makes Boris a conservative?
  • Dominic’s reading list: who are the thinkers behind modern Conservatism?
  • Brexity Hezza or British FDR?: how will Boris shape the new normal?
