About this event

Throughout FoSS week we will release three short videos answering questions - does Black celebrity activism help or hinder movements? The videos include:

Professor Scott Lucas and Professor Michell Chresfield on whether BLM needs celebrity involvement. They will explore how the role of celebrity has evolved, the portrayal of black women in the media in comparison to men and the future of the BLM movement in the UK. Professor Karen Rowlingson and Alison Garnham, Chief Executive of Child Poverty Action Group on how to sustain media interest in food poverty following Marcus Rashford's free school meal campaign. They will discuss what made Rashford's initial campaign successful, the recent decision made by parliament against free school meals and actions that need to be taken in the future.

If you are interested in this event feel free to register so you can be alerted when the videos have gone live https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/does-black-celebrity-activism-influence-you-tickets-126789764599
