Talk/Webinar
In this public lecture, Hetan Shah – Chief Executive of the British Academy – will provide his reflections on the importance and contribution of the social sciences, as well as the arts and humanities, to contemporary policy and public debate, particularly in light of COVID-19. This talk will further develop the ideas that Hetan Shah sets out in his original article published earlier in the year in the journal Nature. Professor Adam Crawford, Director of the Leeds Social Sciences Institute, will host the event which will also benefit from contributions by two academic Respondents, Louise Waite (Professor of Human Geography) and Stuart Taberner (Dean for Interdisciplinary Research).
