About this event

In this online panel discussion, our expert panel from the University of Birmingham, Doctors of the World UK and Docs not Cops will discuss issues around migration, vulnerability, and wellbeing during the pandemic. The focus will be on using data and professional experiences to discuss the implications of the pandemic for research, policy and practice, especially with regard to the wellbeing of individuals at risk of vulnerability, with a focus on access barriers to healthcare. As part of the discussion, we will provide data highlights from the University of Birmingham's Nuffield Foundation-funded project "Migration, Vulnerability, and Wellbeing during the pandemic", which examines wellbeing-related data from service users of clinics run by Doctors of the Work UK during the period of the pandemic. Additionally, the panel will include interventions from experts who have had first-hand experience dealing with wellbeing issues during the pandemic. These expert panelists will be discussing and contextualising the results from the project as well as share their experience. They will discuss the effects of the pandemic on the wellbeing of individuals at risk of vulnerability (such as, for example, the impact of access to primary care during the pandemic, legal entitlements, and issues of charging for migrants).
