Our Communities in Cornwall: Ecological Art and Creating our Future

07th November 2020 14:00-16:30
Workshop, Exhibition/demonstration, Interactive activity

About this event

Enjoy a unique opportunity to share the stories of your local Cornish ecology in conversation and making with ecological artist Pete Ward (www.peterward-artist-illustrator.co.uk) and Environment and Sustainability Institute (Exeter University) Senior Politics Lecturer Dr Joanie Willett. Through a dynamic afternoon of guided activities, we will explore the potential of the organic materials on our doorsteps to re-imagine our local communities and add their voices to the political process. The workshop will culminate in a communal digital collage to represent a shared vision for the future.

Based on a simple show and tell process you will be invited to share your ideas through objects gathered in your local environment, make drawings and sculptures using gathered materials and reflect upon the role of ecology in contemporary political process. The event will be documented and shared as an online exhibition and pdf booklet.

Due to COVID this popular event has been reformed for an ONLINE format.
